Our History
1970
JR is founded and introduced the wide lath insulated and dry freight shutters into the UK under the licence from Whiting Door Manufacturing Corp.
1980
JR introduced the first flexible bulkhead into the UK.
1984
JR moves from Penarth to Pentwyn in Cardiff, tripling the size of its premises.
1990
JR exited the factoring market in the mid-1990’s to concentrate on the shutter market.
1997
JR expanded into France with the setting up of JR Industrie Sarl in Le Veuve, Chalons-en-Champagne.
2004
JR acquired their main competitor, Mobile Doors, and moves production from Essex to Cardiff.
2007
JR acquired its current premises in Caerphilly and undertook extensive refurbishment.
2010
Acquired Ross & Bonnyman’s shutter business which was the last major competitor in the UK. JR acquired a controlling stake in RSD Komponent GmbH, which later became JR Industries GmbH.
2018
Introduction of K32 Insulated and C4 Dry Freight shutters to the Australian market.
2019
JR acquired its German premises in Halle, Westfallen.
2021
As the home delivery sector grows, production of JR’s product offering exceeds all previous records.
2024
Sdiptech AB acquire 100% of JR Industries.
